Biography
STIMULATOR was assembled by Billy Morrison, most well known for his tenure as bassist of THE CULT. The group was assembled during 1996, putting in its first live performance supporting LOVE/HATE at London's Astoria. Subsequently the group also opened for MOTȪRHEAD and rapidly built a loyal following in the capitol. STIMULATOR scored a deal with Geffen Records but their intended debut album, recorded during 1996, never emerged. The 1997 EP 'Strike No 1' was self-finance through the band's own F.O.N.O. label.
Post THE CULT, Morrison's later credits also include DOHENY and CAMP FREDDY. Drummer Jason Bowld would join PITCHSHIFTER, first featuring on the 2002 'P.S.I.' album. In 2004 Bowld, then a member of HIDING PLACE, sessioned on BLAZE's 'Blood and Belief' opus.
In January 2006 it would be learned that a potential "Supergroup" union, dubbed CIRCUS DIABLO, was in the works involving Morrison. The unit, conducting rehearsals and songwriting sessions at Drac Studios, owned by drummer MATT SORUM of THE CULT, VELVET REVOLVER and GUNS N' ROSES repute, involved THE ALMIGHTY guitarist RICKY WARWICK and THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy.
