An uncompromisingly raw Black Metal outfit created in West Yorkshire during October 1999. The original formation comprised former RAPIST OF ANGELS vocalist Luke 'Diesektor', Jamie 'Kryfan' of ANUBIS and BLACK MILLENIUM and Jamies 'The Bog' Sykes of BURNING WITCH, THORS HAMMER, CORVUS CORAX and ENCHANTED infamy on drums. Before long Sykes opted out and ex-EPITAPH, THE AXIS OF PERDITION and BROKEN drummer Dan 'Mr. Storm Monolith' Mullins took on the role. By August of 2000 Russ 'Z Ha Doom' applied himself to the bass role. Second guitarist Paul 'The Wraith' would be a later recruit.

SERMON OF HYPOCRISY incorporated two new members, bassist Morbus and keyboard player Sickwave, during 2002. In this incarnation SERMON OF HYPOCRISY credited themselves as Diescotor on "Sadistic Ossiliscope", Kryfarn "String of Suffering", The Wraith "String of Hate", Morbus "Pulse", Sickwave "Keys" and Mr. Storm Monolith "Blast BeatMaster".

A gig at the Bradford Empress in January of 2004 was cancelled when Diescector suffered back injuries by falling out of his friend's bedroom window! The band released the 'Masochistic Discipline' album in February but would then lose the services of Dan Mullins. The ex-drummer journeyed on to THE RAVEN THEORY and in July of 2004 would join BAL SAGOTH.
