Lightweight Rock band founded by drummer Mick Underwood, veteran of QUATERMASS, EPISODE SIX and THE HERD. Joining him were saxophonist Keith Gemmell of THE AUDIENCE, SILVERHEAD keyboard player Mike Hodgkinson and ex-GINHOUSE guitarist Geoff Sharkey. The album was produced by Underwood's erstwhile EPISODE SIX colleague DEEP PURPLE star Ian Gillan.

Upon SAMMY's demise Underwood joined RAW GLORY then GILLAN whilst Gemmell joined STACKRIDGE. Sharkey turned up in 1980 on the ALIBI album.

Underwood reactivated QUATERMASS for a new album in 1997.
