A Portsmouth based AOR act produced by FREEFALL guitarist Chris Jones. Mainman Steve Newman is ex-JADED HEART, CLOUD TEN and SIANARA whilst guitarist Mark Mulholland was previously a member of TRUFFLE and ASHAMATA. Former IDOL RICH and PRAYING MANTIS vocalist MARK THOMPSON-SMITH adds backing vocals to NEWMAN's 1999 album.

The third album 'Dance In The Fire' saw the HEARTLAND duo of vocalist Chris Ousey and guitarist Steve Morris acting as producers. Further studio aid came from LOVERBOY guitarist PAUL DEAN on the mixing front and a rhythm section of THE DISTANCE bassist Dave Hopia and THE DISTANCE and BOULEVARD drummer Rob Kurzreiter on drums.

An album provisionally entitled 'Butterfly Tattoo' was slated for 2002 release but then reportedly scrapped. In its stead NEWMAN launched the 'Sign Of The Modern Times' record, utilising the services of former SAMSON, FM and WILDLIFE drummer Pete Jupp. The 'Heaven Knows' album, recorded at at Blue Room Studios in Sussex and seeing Rob McEwen on drums, arrived in May 2006 via Escape Music. The 'Primitive Soul' album was prepared for 2007.
