Previously known as NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, at that juncture featuring former DEEP SWITCH, PANIC, CHARIOT and DIRTY DEEDS drummer Simon Dawson. With the recruitment of drummer Eddie Stratton, Dawson rejoining THE OUTFIELD for American touring, a name change to ONE MINUTE SILENCE ensued. A planned recording of a live mini album had to be abandoned when Brian 'Yap' Barry contracted an illness, a recurrance of the impairment that had cancelled previous shows before, the singer losing his voice completely during sets.

In early 1999 guitarist Chris Ignatiou left the group due to exhaustion. His replacement was Kee Payne. UK headline dates throughout that February saw PULKAS and LIBERTY 37 as support acts.

ONE MINUTE SILENCE toured Britain in December of 2000 supported by MUDVAYNE, BREED 77 and TRIBUTE TO NOTHING. The band would headline UK dates in November 2001 billed with guests WILL HAVEN and SUGAR COMA. Stepping up a league into 2002 by February the band would be joining the SLIPKNOT, IN FLAMES and AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE touring package. That same year Barry would also make his presence felt on the 'Still Hungry?' album by former SKUNK ANANSIE guitarist ACE, vocalising on the track 'Your Face Hurts'.

A limited edition EP entitled 'Revolution' would be backed up by January 2003 UK dates in alliance with FONY. The band's third full length album 'One Lie Fits All', produced by John Cornfield and John Leckie, would be slated for a June release.
