In September 1998 MEDULLA NOCTE partnered with Nottingham's IRON MONKEY and Swedes MISERLY LOVES CO. for UK touring. MEDULLA NOCTE opened for SOULFLY during 1999. The split album with FREEBASE features original material as well as both bands covering each others songs.

2000 album 'Dying From The Inside' was produced by Dave Chang. Seemingly on a career ascendent path MEDULLA NOCTE surprised many by folding in November 2001. Subsequently vocalist Paul Catten, guitarist Mark and drummer Jammer united with former IRON MONKEY frontman John Morrow, guitarist Jim of CHARGER and LABRAT bassist Adam to found MURDER ONE. In October of 2004 Catten joined Doom merchants KHANG, this addition prompting a name switch to LAZARUS BLACK STAR.
