Biography

A South London based band formed when Glam act NUTHIN' FANCY lost their rhythm section of bassist Mac McKenzie and drummer Chris Hussey, vocalist Danny Bowes and guitarist Luke Morley regrouped, adding bassist Nick Linden and drummer Gary 'Harry' James.

grafted hard on the club circuit and gained enough exposure to warrant a major deal, although they originally debuted with the rather collectable 'I Survive' single on the independent City label in 1983. Still, a storming performance at the Reading Festival the same year ensured heavy label interest and in 1984 TERRAPLANE signed to CBS Records' Epic imprint.

With a Liam Henshaw produced debut album in the can TERRAPLANE gained valuable support slots with both MEAT LOAF and FOREIGNER, with ex-DRAGONFLY, SAPPHIRE and NEW TORPEDOS guitarist Rudi Riviere joining on the eve of the MEAT LOAF tour. Epic proceeded to try and break the band with a string of single releases but all fared badly. Promoting the 'Good Thing Going' single TERRAPLANE undertook a UK headline tour throughout June and July of 1987. Riviere left in 1987 and the group would eventually drift apart. However, Bowes, Morley and James soon reunited to form THUNDER and subsequent success over a string of chart albums and singles with EMI Records. Linden surfaced again in 1990 with BAD BREED.
