    Biography

GERRY LAFFY is best known for his role as one of the twin guitarists with Phil Collen in GIRL and, later, the LONDON COWBOYS. With GIRL, Laffy had achieved significant, if brief, commercial success in Japan. Following the dissolution of the LONDON COWBOYS Laffy relocated to Australia. Laffy would soon get into the movie business, which included Gerry picking up production credits with the cult "Mad Pig" flick 'Razorback' and the internationally successful 'Highlander'.

Getting back to his interest in music, Laffy's debut solo album, 1990's 'Money And The Magic', features contributions from ex-GILLAN and GIRL drummer Pete Barnacle, DURAN DURAN bassist John Taylor, STRAY CATS man Slim Jim Phantom, keyboard player Dave Rose, ex-ATOMIC ROOSTER drummer Ric Parnell and session bassist Tony Forsythe.

In 1994, the Japanese label Zero Corporation issued the 'Lying With Angels' album, a project undertaken by Laffy with his brother and former GIRL bassist Simon simply credited to GERRY & SIMON LAFFY. A further album, 'Can't Help It', emerged a year later. Gerry Laffy now fronts SHEER GREED, the band named in honour of GIRL's debut album.
