Biography

Formed in 1988 this Pagan Progressive Folk Rock influenced outfit have built up an enviable cult following and the band's initial line-up comprised of keyboard player Steve Paine, vocalist Debbie Chapman and Paul Thomson on guitar.

For the debut 1992 album, 'Light In Extension', LEGEND added ex TUMBLING DICE bassist Ian Lees and drummer Chris Haskayne. Both were to leave after the album release and their positions were filled by bassist Martyn Rouski and drummer John Macklin. The Japanese version of the album featured an extra track in 'Stormwarning' and a video, 'Playing With Fire', featuring Rouski and Macklin, was released in 1993.

The band's second album, 'Second Sight', saw a limited British release through the band's fan club in late 1993 but gained an international release the following year. Prior to a British tour which saw many festival appearances, LEGEND recruited bassist Mike Thomas. Further touring in Britain with label mates INCUBUS SUCCUBUS ended the year. Thomas departed after these dates.

Whilst LEGEND contributed their version of 'The Day The Lights Went Out' to the GENESIS tribute album 'The River Of Constant Change' on Mellow Records in 1995, LEGEND were more recently working on a fourth album, tentatively titled 'Cardinal Points'.
