Biography

KINO is a 2004 formation comprising ProgRock heavyweights ARENA and THE URBANE vocalist / guitarist John Mitchell, keyboard player John Beck of IT BITES and UNICORN JONES, drummer Chris Maitland of PORCUPINE TREE repute and bassist Pete Trewavas of MARILLION. The 'Picture' album emerged in February 2005 through Inside Out Music.

KINO issued a limited edition album, entitled 'Cutting Room Floor', to coincide with their December 2005 tour across Europe. The special CD comprised a collection of previously unheard KINO demos, which include Pete Trewavas singing lead vocals, plus live versions of songs from the band's debut album 'Picture', and a cover version of the KEVIN GILBERT track 'Parade' which was originally recorded several years ago for an as yet unreleased KEVIN GILBERT tribute album. For these live dates Bob Dalton, of IT BITES, KARNATAKA and THE URBANE, filled in for an unavailable Maitland.

Andy Mitchell featured on the debut FROST album, 'Milliontown', in 2006.
