Biography
Known for his work with ATOMIC ROOSTER guitarist John Du Cann (also known at various stages in his career simply as John Cann) had also performed with ATTACK, ANDROMEDA, THIN LIZZY and HARD STUFF.
Following HARD STUFF's demise the guitarist recorded a projected solo album in 1977. Signed to Quarry Management, the stable of STATUS QUO, both the STATUS QUO's Francis Rossi and Andy Bown appeared on the record as does GILLAN bassist John McCoy. Also putting in an appearance is ATOMIC ROOSTER drummer Paul Hammond and fellow skinsman Pete Kircher, later of STATUS QUO. The material is very much in the Power Pop vein.
However, despite signing a deal the album, releasing two singles and performing live at London's Marquee club the album, already at test pressing stage, was shelved. Du Cann had the last laugh though as he scored a British top 40 hit with 'Don't Be A Dummy' in 1979.
The album would not be released until many years later, by Angel Air Records, with extra tracks in 1999.
