HELLES BELLES

Biography

A Glam Metal outfit that briefly caused a stir in the mid 80s, HELLES BELLES comprised of guitarist Pooch (a.k.a. Peter Pyrtle), erstwhile ROGUE MALE bassist HELLES BELLES featured Gareth Holder and one-time BRONZ associate Paul Quigley on vocals. The enigmatic Spiv rounded the quartet out on drums. The band gained some degree of press interest with a 1984 debut demo featuring the tracks 'Long Legs', 'If It Don't Make Your Ears Bleed' and ' Hells Belles' and played some reasonably attended club gigs before signing to the Rawpower label.

In 1985 the group released the 'Barricades' 12" and an eponymously titled debut album, keyboards on which were contributed by OZZY OSBOURNE man Lyndsey Bridgewater, before disappearing almost as quickly as they'd arrived. Pooch joined Punk act DISCHARGE whilst Paul Quigley fronted up another Glam outfit, the higher profile BELLADONNA for their 1986 demo 'Fight Fire With Fire'.
