Biography

Frontman with THE WILDHEARTS and SILVER GINGER 5, not to mention an erstwhile member of THE QUIREBOYS, THE THROBS and even NWoBHM act AVENGER. Ginger (a.k.a. David Walls) would issue his debut solo album, an entirely acoustic affair, in June 2001. The 'Grievous Acoustic Behavior' set would, alongside material by THE WILDHEARTS, include covers of the KISS track 'Hard Luck Woman' and even 'If I Had You' by THE KORGIS. The same year would find the man resurrecting THE WILDHEARTS for a series of UK dates and performing with his other act SILVER GINGER 5. A renewed bouts of success for his priority act was punctuated by further solo single releases. Ginger was to set out on a further acoustic round of UK dates in December 2003 but these would be cancelled after he broke his hand.

January of 2005 saw Castle Records issue of the album 'A Break In The Weather', a compilation of tracks previously only available as mail order singles. That same month Ginger would be the subject of rumours that he had joined US outfit BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION as their second guitarist.

A new solo album, 'Valor Del Corazon', was given a restricted release just after Christmas 2005, although these first pressings featured a mis-spelling of the title on the spine. The conventional release came in January through Round Records. GINGER's SONIC CIRCUS band put in a significant appearance at the TOOL and DEFTONES headlined 'Download' festival in Castle Donington, UK on June 9th 2006.

On November 20th GINGER launched a split 7" single 'Yeah Yeah Yeah', as a two-track CD and a limited edition white vinyl 7", with fellow Round Records artist HOWLING WILLIE. The double A-sided single also features a cover version of THE WILDHEARTS 'Caffeine Bomb', as recorded by HOWLING WILLIE and produced by Ginger. Ginger was also announced as having enrolled into the bass position of THE GOD DAMN WHORES, featuring former WOLFSBANE guitarist Jase 'The Ace' Edwards.
