Biography

Throughout the summer of 1984 drummer BILL WARD was back in the BLACK SABBATH fold, rehearsing with the David Donato era version of the group, also involving TONY IOMMI and Geezer Butler, for a set of Bob Ezrin produced demos. However, this version of BLACK SABBATH splintered. Ward duly activated his own ENGLAND'S GLORY band, this unit involving vocalist Paul Williams, from from JOHN MAYALL'S BLUESBREAKERS, Aynsley Dunbar's BLUE WHALE, Blues Rockers JUICY LUCY, TEMPEST and the ALLAN HOLDSWORTH band, bassist Rob Ridgeway and NOMAD guitarist Robb Howell, later of RH FACTOR and PEACE MACHINE. Ward also sessioned on RH FACTOR's album 'One Step Closer To The Sun'. The drummer next appeared with BLACK SABBATH in 1985 for the memorable OZZY OSBOURNE fronted 'Live Aid' performance in Philadelphia. Following this performance Ward undertook solo shows in California. ENGLAND'S GLORY cut demos but no material surfaced in the public domain.

Paul Williams would later work with a resurrected JUICY LUCY and in 1999 fronted COLOSSEUM for European dates.
