Biography

A County Durham based melodic Metal band, previously known as TOKYO ROSE, who recorded the single 'Dry Your Eyes' for Guardian Records in 1980. DARK HEART, featuring the BATTLEAXE credited Ian Thompson on drums, released a solitary, Terry Gavaghan produced album, 'Shadows Of The Night', after which vocalist Phil De Sade left in mid 1984. By 1985 the band had changed names to ARENA and a projected second album, tentatively titled 'Chase The Dawn', never materialised.

Having surprisingly reverted back to the DARK HEART moniker in 1986 comprising a line-up of Clark, bassist Steve Anthony, original bassist Colin Bell having joined HOLOSADE, drummer Dave Hudson and vocalist Mitch, the group would release a single, 'Straight From The Heart', on their own label in 1987.

As an unfortunate aside, the band's 'Shadows Of The Night' album sold precisely 514 copies in America when licensed through Metal Blade Records, making it the label's biggest failure to date.
