Biography

Chesterfield's LUTHER BELTZ, fronted by former WITCHFYNDE vocalist Luther Beltz, had operated under various names such as THE LUTHER BELTZ BAND, LUTHER BELTZ WITCHFYNDE and just WITCHFYNDE. However, in 2000 the tag LUTHER BELTZ was settled on under pressure from the remaining three ex-WITCHFYNDE members, fronted by ex-REBEL and CLOWNHOUSE vocalist Harry Harrison, refounding the band and taking the rights to the name.

Joining Beltz would be STORMWATCH members bassist Dave Hewitt, also an ex-member of NWoBHMers WARRIOR, and guitarist Ronnie Reynolds. Second guitar is supplied by former FRONTIER member Rick Gilliat. However SAXON guitarist Graham Oliver has also made live appearances with the band.

As WITCHFYNDE Beltz's band recorded 'Sign Of A Madman' for a German DEMON tribute album. A three track demo emerged in mid 2000.

Originally slated as appearing at the legendary Wacken Festival in Germany neither LUTHER BELTZ or WITCHFYNDE ended up on the bill, the promoters being put off by the confusion of names.

Beltz, rebilled yet again as WYTCHFYNDE, issued a brand new 2001 album 'The Awakening' for Demolition Records.
