A British AOR outfit comprising the talents of ex-MIDNIGHT BLUE members Dougie White, Alex Dickson and Jem Davies, CHAIN's potential surfaced some while after the group's demise. Recorded much earlier in Dougie White's career, CHAIN's album was released in Japan following interest generated by White singing on RAINBOW's 'Stranger In Us All' album back in 1995.

Prior to fronting RAINBOW, the ex-MIDNIGHT BLUE frontman Dougie White had pursued numerous unfruitful recording projects with the likes of former FASTWAY man LEA HART, Geoff Downes of ASIA, guitarist JAN CYRKA and veteran drummer COZY POWELL. He also appeared on SOLE ASYLUM demos during 1992. The singer had also auditioned for the German outfit PINK CREAM 69. Keyboard player Jem Davies had enjoyed a varied career in his pre- MIDNIGHT BLUE days, having paid his dues with STRANGER and TOBRUK and later having had tenures with both UFO and FM. Jem was latterly a member of Pop act SHRUNK. Bass player Gary Liederman was previously with BROADWAY BRATS, L.A. SECRETS, RHODE ISLAND RED and THE UNTOUCHABLES. Within the ranks of CHAIN the duo had been joined by VAN DAMNE and KICK guitarist Ashley Limer.

With the release of CHAIN's album Dougie White spent late 1997 recording with his former MIDNIGHT BLUE and CHAIN colleague guitarist Alex Dickson (latterly of GUN, BRUCE DICKINSON and ROBBIE WILLIAMS), with other contributing musicians including RAINBOW and MEAT LOAF drummer John Machelli and RAINBOW and ALICE COOPER bassist Greg Smith.

White created CORNERSTONE in 2000 in alliance with ROYAL HUNT bassist Steen Morgensen and the album 'Arrival'. The singer would also front the YNGWIE MALMSTEEN band.
