Biography

With the dissolution of both CREAM and TRAFFIC, guitarist ERIC CLAPTON, drummer GINGER BAKER and frontman STEVE WINWOOD joined forces with ex FAMILY bassist Ric Grech to form the shortlived supergroup BLIND FAITH in May 1969. The band guested for the ROLLING STONES in Hyde Park that same year. Island Records chose to issue a promotional single of an instrumental studio jam to the music industry in order to notify them of their forthcoming change of address. Only 500 copies were pressed and as such are highly sought after by collectors.

Within the year BLIND FAITH had split, despite the immediate success of the album and a well received American tour. And, despite selling in enormous quantities, the album is more remembered for its sleeve photograph of Ginger Baker's 11 year old daughter posing nude rather than any musical legacy it contained. Upon BLIND FAITH's dissolution Clapton formed DEREK AND THE DOMINOS whilst Baker formed AIRFORCE with Winwood. Grech was to be found on the 1971 ROSSETTA HIGHTOWER album.

Baker and Grech were to reunite in Spain during the early 80's in an attempt to put together another 'supergroup' with former MOODY BLUES and WINGS guitarist Denny Laine and ex UFO, BLUE MAX, RIFF and BANZAI keyboard player and singer Danny Peyronel. The project fell apart and Peyronel founded TARZEN.

American Pomp Rock outfit HOUSE OF LORDS would cover BLIND FAITH's 'Can't Find My Way Home' on their 'Sahara' album in the early 90s.

The BLIND FAITH album saw a re-release in late 2000 completely repackaged with a collection of studio jam tracks and previously unheard material. During 2005 multi-platinum US Rockers STYX also re-visited ''Can't Find My Way Home' on their album 'Big Bang Theory'.
