KARRIER

Biography

Birmingham Melodic Rock act KARRIER were formed by vocalist Gary Garner who, following the 1985 'Way Beyond The Night' album, sacked the rest of the band and promptly recruited a whole new line-up. New guitarist Tim Manford was previously with TEETHER and, along with bassist Andrew Jenkins and drummer Ray Horton, had also been previously involved with EXPRESS. The band supported the likes of MAGNUM, TYGERS OF PAN TANG and WARLOCK before a second album was recorded for FM Revolver Records. However, the record was never released. Gary Garner departed for a career in management handling acts such as THE WILDHEARTS.

The group continued and added former EXPRESS vocalist Barry Thorne in 1987, but by 1988 KARRIER had evolved into DANTE FOX, retaining Manford, Jenkins and Horton with the addition of singer Sue Willets. Manford briefly had a spell with RADIO MOSCOW, recording the 'World Service' album with them. Cook featured in the 50's retro band THE CARDS.
