AIN'T DEAD YET

Biography

Created in Solothurn during 1991, melodic Hard Rock band AIN'T DEAD YET issued their debut live album of Rock cover versions prior to ex-KILLER and HEADHUNTER guitarist Manny Maurer, drummer Peter Haas and bassist Tony Castell all joining KROKUS for the 1990 album 'Stampede'. The 1992 outing 'Alive MCMXCII' included renditions of such Rock staples as JUDAS PRIEST's 'Hell Bent For Leather', STEPPENWOLF's 'Born To Be Wild', TED NUGENT's 'Cat Scratch Fever' and 'Wang Dang Sweet poontang', GOLDEN EARRING's 'Radar Love', ZZ TOP's 'Gimmie All Your Lovin' and 'Long Stick Goes Boom' by KROKUS.

Haas had a short spell with MEKONG DELTA, CALHOUN CONQUER and BABYLON SAD before returning to the fold, although he has also worked for BUDDY LACKEY, POLTERGEIST and CORONER. Maurer stayed with KROKUS but retained AIN'T DEAD YET as a side project releasing a new album in 1995. KROKUS vocalist Marc Storace contributed backing vocals.

By 1999 both Maurer and Haas were back in the ranks of KROKUS for their 'Round 13' album. Castell also operated an AC/DC tribute band on the side titled AC/CD. He also forged part of the DC WORLD homage to AC/DC assembled by ex KROKUS vocalists Marc Storace and Peter Tanner.
