After a lengthy hiatus former CELTIC FROST mentor Thomas Gabriel Fischer (previously known as Tom G. Warrior) announced his new project APOLLYON SUN during 1998, debuting with a startling mini album 'God Leaves And Dies' and backed by heavyweight management of Sanctuary.

Drummer Mark Edelmann is in fact former CORONER man Marquis Marky now sensibly using his real name.

The 2000 'Sub' album, eschewing a former provisional title of 'The Next Level Of Provocation', saw Fischer and Edelmann joined by guitarist Erol Unala, bassist Dany Zingg and keyboard player Roger Muller. Fischer would contribute guest vocals to FOO FIGHTERS man Dave Grohl's Metal elite PROBOT project album of 2001. Eventually APOLLYON SUN faded and Fischer put his efforts into a full scale CELTIC FROST resurrection. Unfortunately this endeavour would prove unproductive for many years.
