Biography

BLODSRIT was forged in Västervik as a duo of Nazgûl (a.k.a. Jimmie Nyhlén), having DEMONIZED, SCOURGE, WRATH and PRIMITIVE SYMPHONY ties, and Kettil of PAGANIZER and DEAD SUN in 1998 originally billed as SKUGGRIKE. A demo 'The Arrival Of Chaos' followed prior to a name change to BLODSRIT as the project became a solo venture of Nazgûl. A second session 'Dödens Sändebud' led to a deal with the Asian label Psychic Screams Entertainment and a split album with Indonesian act RITUAL ORCHESTRA. MASSMURDER man Vampyr became BLODSRIT's drummer in October of 1999.

BLODSRIT signed to the French Chanteloup Creations in 2000 but in the midst of recording their debut full -ength album the label collapsed. Fortunately Oaken Shield, a subsidiary of another French label Adipocere, took the project over. 'Supreme Misanthropy' emerged in 2001, after which the band pulled in drummer Fiebig. To herald this new line-up a promotional EP containing two new tracks, a re-recorded version of 'Vid llvets Slut' and a rendition of DARKTHRONE's 'Transilvanian Hunger' was recorded and issued as 'Secrets Unveiled'.

BLODSRIT inducted bassist Saphanoz (Patrik Halvarsson) of PRIMITIVE SYMPHONY in 2002 upfront of recording a second album for Oaken Shield, 'Ocularis Infernum' being recorded at the Andromede Studios in France. Whilst there, the band, adding MOBSPHERE and CARVE lead guitarist Yxmarder (Roger Johansson), undertook a tour partnered with CRYSTALIUM, BELENOS, NEHËMAH and HIMINBJORG. Oaken Shield issued the 'Helveteshymner' album, featuring a cover rendition of CANDLEMASS' 'Suicide', in 2004.
