Väsby Metal band GALLOW was formulated during March of 1998, originally going by the handle of S.W.O.R.D. but also tried out both REINCARNATION and METAPSYCHOSIS. With the addition of vocalist / guitarist Niklas the group took on the GALLOW title. The band submitted their track 'Curse Of The Tyrant' to the 'Suburban Metal' compilation EP.

With GALLOW's demise both vocalist / guitarist Niklas Eriksson and guitarist Johan Wallin founded MAGGOTS. Their erstwhile GALLOW drumming compatriot Fredrik Andersson was also drafted into this new band but adopting the new role of bass as this band evolved into SCURVY. Wallin also operates with Death Metal act REPUGNANT.
