Biography

Västerås based GODHATE traded under the title THRONEAEON for over a decade. With the issue of THRONEAEON's 'Godhate' 2003 album the band opted to switch titles. THRONEAEON dated back to a 1991 formation convened by drummer Roger Sundquist. In their formative stages the group was entitled SHADOWS AT DAWN and subsequently AUTUMNAL. This early act drew in vocalist / guitarist Tony Freed the following year and by 1994 Andreas Dahlström had assumed the bass position and Göran Eriksson second guitar. During 1995 the new title of THRONEAEON was adopted, a demo being delivered in December of that year. Based upon this tape Swedish label Voices Of Death offered a split album deal which the band declined and instead put their efforts into the 'Carnage' demo.

In April of 1999 the Danish label Helgrind Productions issued 'The Sardonic Wrath' four track EP. In October 1999 Göran Eriksson made his exit, THRONEAEON plugging the vacancy with Jenz Klovegård of ABHOTH repute. A year later Hammerheart Records in Holland signed the band, re-releasing 'The Sardonic Wrath' as a precursor for a full length studio album. Promoting 'Neither Of Gods' THRONEAEON toured Europe in September of 2001 alongside BENEDICTION.

Founder member Roger Sundquist would leave in July of 2002. However, as Sundquist rejoined, Andreas Dahlström broke ranks in October being superseded by ABHOTH and SEPTIC BREED member Magnus Wall. This latest candidate would vacate his post toward the close of 2003, replaced by Claes 'Clabbe' Ramberg, ironically the same man who had replaced Wall in ABHOTH. Wall joined MAUSOLEUM to record their demo 'Fluctuating Senses' as well as Power Metal band HATERUSH, featuring on the 2004 album 'Mark Of The Warrior'.

The band donated their rendition of 'Kingdom Gone' to the AT THE GATES tribute album, 'Slaughterous Souls - A Tribute to At The Gates' released in September 2004 through Drowned Scream Records. That same month GODHATE joined the 'Thunderstorm Over Europe' tour allied with BENEDICTION and NOMINON. However, these dates would see bassist Claes Ramberg, "suffering from serious ache in his back", standing down in favour of former member Andreas Dalström. The band also announced the 'Destruction of Finland' tour in October allied with INSISION, DEATH DU JOUR and HATEFORM.

Claes Ramberg joined the ranks of IN AETERNUM in February 2006. That April GODHATE parted ways with drummer and founding member Roger Sundquist, soon replaced by Mats Blückert of ABHOTH and SUFFER repute. Claes Ramberg, suffering from back problems, opted out in December.

In February 2009 GODHATE put in a Swedish tour packaged with VOLTURYON and OVEROTH. The group then performed at the 'Hardline Ireland, again with Therapy' festival in Czech Republic and also toured Ireland with OVEROTH. US concerts were conducted in May. Fresh album tracks, engineered by Dino Medanhodzic at Elastic Studio and branded 'Equal In The Eyes Of Death', were mixed in July.
