Biography

Uppsala's LOST SOULS evolved from a traditional Metal band to a more aggressive, almost Hardcore Industrialized sound, delivering three albums before morphing into INRAGE. The band had contributed the track 'Powermad' to a 1991 compilation album before ex-MANNINYA BLADE and DAMIEN bassist Marre Martini bailed out to create MISERY LOVES CO.. His place was taken by former MIDAS TOUCH man Patrik Sporrong for the debut album, 'Never Promised You A Rose Garden' in 1994 for Soundfront. However, Sporrong in turn was replaced for the next album, 'Close Your Eyes And It Won't Hurt' issued in 1996 by new label Roadrunner Records, by former CRAWLEY bassist Matte Järnil.

LOST SOULS covered MOTÖRHEAD's 'Sweet Revenge' for the 1995 Pink Honey Records tribute album. Guitarist Michael Hahne left to join MISERY LOVES CO. in 1998. That same year Daniel Bergstrand produced LOST SOULS third outing, 'Fracture', for German imprint Nuclear Blast, these sessions recorded as a quartet of Christer Salling, Peter Hägglund, bassist Matte Järnil with Theo Savidis on drums.

In 2000 LOST SOULS featured on the 'Power From The North - Sweden Rocks The World' tribute to Swedish Metal with their version of AGONY's 'Deadly Legacy'. The line-up of the band at this juncture would comprise Christer Salling on vocals, guitarists Peter Hägglund and Magnus Söderman, bassist Matte Järnil and Per Johansson on drums. Prior to joining LOST SOULS Söderman had been a member of ROSICRUCIAN, SLAPDASH, ZEALION and Metal covers band POWERAGE, the act that later evolved into AXENSTAR. Magnus Söderman would act as session guest on the 2004 debut album 'Vile, Vicious & Victorious' from VICIOUS.
