GUILLOTINE is an Umeå based Thrash Metal band, formed as HOLOCAUST during 1995. A three song demo tape 'Under The Guillotine' emerged in 1995 with musicians being credited as Spider ("Screaming guitarz & vocals from Hell"), Killer ("Bombing bass"), Psycho ("Horrible rhythm guitar") and Insane ("Skin shocker"). The Necropolis label then took the band on for an album bearing the same title, these sessions recorded at Eurosound Studios. The band featured the NOCTURNAL RITES duo of guitarist Frederik 'Psycho' Mannberg and bassist Nils 'Snake' Eriksson. Occupying the role as frontman in the guise of 'Spider' would in fact be Fredrik Degerström of NAGLAR, AUBERON, BEWITCHED and STORMLEIGH repute.

GUILLOTINE reunited in 2008 to record the band's second album, 'Blood Money', released on 27th October via Pulverised Records. Digipack versions hosted an extra track entitled 'I Hate Society'.

The band supported UNLEASHED on Swedish dates during March 2009.
