Biography

Rising from the fragmentation of Hardcore act ECLIPSE, lead vocalist Klas Rydberg and guitarist Johannes Persson duly created the Umeå based Sludge, Noisecore outfit CULT OF LUNA. A debut album emerged through the British Rage Of Achilles label in 2000, limited to just 2000 copies. The band added new bass player Andreas Johansson in November of 2002. CULT OF LUNA, supported by ISIS, toured the UK in March of 2003. The band would act as support for American Hardcore merchants POISON THE WELL in Europe throughout August.

CULT OF LUNA's 2001 debut was re-issued by the Elitist label in 2003. Further live shows found the band opening for THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN in the UK during December. CULT OF LUNA musicians guitarist Erik Olsson and drummer Marco Hildén forged the extreme Metal venture JUSTADELF VERSUS GROSS ALATISCH in league with RAGING SPEEDHORN guitarist Gareth Smith in early 2004.

CULT OF LUNA marked a return in 2004 with the October 'Salvation' album through Earache Records, recorded at Tonteknik Studios in Sweden and produced by Magnus Lindberg. Touring saw the band as support to BLEEDING THROUGH's February 2005 European dates. A new album, 'Somewhere Along The Highway' recorded in a wooden octagon barn sound engineer Magnus Lindberg, was announced for April 2006 issue. That same month gigs in the Low Countries witnessed a package run with FEAR FALLS BURNING.
