Biography

Trollhättan Heavy Metal band PATHOS is known for its membership of the NOSTRADAMEUS and FEJD rhythm section of bassist Thomas Antonsson and drummer Esko Salow whilst guitarist Daniel Antonsson cites affiliation with DIMENSION ZERO and ELECXSIR. The band had been initiated during 1995 by FEJD guitarist Lennart Specht as DEPICT CHAOS. Prior to this formation Specht had operated Thrash act VALCYRIE, issuing the 1991 demo tape 'Into The Questions Of What?'. This band, featuring Specht, Salow, Martin Sikström on vocals and bass with Morgan Ruokolainen on guitar, evolved into DEPICT PATHOS, releasing the 'Elude The Decree Of Destiny' tape in 1992. Re-branded as PATHOS the group relocated to Trollhättan, recording a demo with NEOCORI and MEMENTO MORI vocalist Stefan Carlsson.

In 1996 PATHOS signed to the Liphone Metal label, recording the 'Hoverface' album at Lirec studios in Uddevalla during 1997. Black Mark Productions then contracted the band, re-issuing 'Hoverface' with new artwork. In March 1998 the group crafted their second album, 'Uni Versus Universe', but would then sever ties with Black Mark. Carlsson would handle lead vocals for the first brace of albums but exited in December of 1999. With Paul Schöning of POWER PLANT taking the vocal role in mid 2000, PATHOS signed to RoastingHouse Productions in Malmö for 'Katharsis', recorded during February of 2002 with producer Anders Theander.

Guitarist Daniel Antonsson joined SOILWORK as a temporary member in April 2006. Lennart Specht joined NOSTRADAMEUS in October.

PATHOS' Daniel Antonsson joined the live line-up of DIMENSION ZERO for an appearance at the Close-Up BÃ¥ten festival boat cruise leaving Stockholm on February 5th 2007. Antonsson was announced officially as new guitarist for SOILWORK in early March.

Esko Salow joined female fronted Doom Metal band LADY MOURNING on 11th November 2008.
