In December 2004 vocalist Johan Lindstrand, previously known for having fronted IMPIOUS and more prominently THE CROWN, announced the formation of his brand new project, billed ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET. Entering Deadline Studios, and working with Valle Adzic of IMPIOUS as engineer, this venture cut the opening demo 'When Hatred Comes To Life'. Although the demo was aired in January of 2005 Lindstrand was still keeping the identities of his fellow band members under wraps. However, it would soon be learned the musicians included would comprise Mikael Lagerblad on lead guitar, ex-AUBERON and PERSUADER veteran Pekka Kiviaho on rhythm guitar, IMPIOUS man Valle Adzic on bass and Marek Dobrowolski of RECLUSION on the drums. The group signed to Nuclear Blast Records for the album release. Meantime, Johan Lindstrand spread his talents by also signing up as new frontman for INCAPACITY. He would also guest on Austrian Death Metal act DECOMPOSED CRANIUM's third album, 'Death Roulette'.

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET hooked up with CHILDREN OF BODOM and Hungarians EKTOMORF for European and Scandinavian gigs commencing in Germany during late December and finalizing in Finland in February 2006. For these shows Valle's place on bass would be taken by Robert Axelsson.

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET joined the 'Metal Hammer' sponsored 'European Neckbreaker's Ball' 2006 tour, also featuring HYPOCRISY, SOILWORK and SCAR SYMMETRY, commencing 11th April in Denmark. On October 18th the band, together with Valle Adzic as engineer, entered Deadline Studios to record the album 'Error In Evolution'. These sessions included the ALICE COOPER cover version 'He's Back (The Man behind the Mask)'.

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET released seasonal single 'Christmas For The Lobotomizer' on November 17th via Nuclear Blast, this outing also featuring live versions of 'Devil On The Red Carpet', 'Hell Is For Heroes' and 'Bulldozer Frenzy' recorded at the 'Summer Breeze' festival in Germany. Only 500 copies would be issued. The full-length 'Error In Evolution' arrived in stores during March 2007. Paranoid Records licensed the album for South American release that December.

The 'Grim Tales' album was issued in October 2008 through Massacre Records. Guitar player Mikael Lagerblad quit on 1st April 2009. Rune Foss of RECLUSION was pulled in as session player.
