THE GREAT DECEIVER's 2000 mini album 'Jet Black Art' sees ex-AT THE GATES and present day THE HAUNTED frontman Tomas Lindberg on vocals. The bands pedigree also boasts guitarists Kristian Wåhlin ('Necrolord') and Johan Österberg as well as drummer Hans Nilsson all of Black Metal band DIABOLIQUE. Both Wåhlin and Nilsson also lay claim to membership of LIERS IN WAIT whilst Osterberg has previous credits with DECOLLATION.

THE GREAT DECEIVER supported NAPALM DEATH on their December 2002 UK dates. A second full length album, 'Terra Incognito' produced by produced by Daniel Bergstrand and MISERY LOVES CO. guitarist Örjan Örnkloo, was set for March 2004 release through Peaceville Records. To promote the record THE GREAT DECEIVER, working with director Patric Ullaeus, lensed their first video for the track 'Lake Of Sulphar'.
