Although signed in 2003 the TEARS OF ANGER project, instigated by the Jansson brothers vocalist Björn and guitarist Benny, was in fact rooted in the much earlier act MINDCRIME. During the early 90s MINDCRIME, enlisting Anders Johansson of HAMMERFALL and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN repute, on drums, had cut an unreleased album for Black Mark subsidiary Montezuma Records. When the record was shelved Björn subsequently fronted up TWO ROCKS and SNAKES IN PARADISE, also gaining guest credits on albums by ERIKA. Meantime, BENNY JANSSON recorded for SNAKECHARMER, RACKATEER and JOHANSSON BROTHERS and had cut three solo albums 'Virtual Humanity', 'Flumride' and 'Save The World'.

Reconstituted during 2003 as TEARS OF ANGER, the Jansson's enrolled THERION and MIND'S EYE man Johan Niemann on bass guitar and MIND'S EYE and FARO drummer Daniel Flores for an album 'Still Alive' recorded for the Finnish label Lion Music. Flores also guested on ARABESQUE guitarist JOOP WOLTERS 2004 solo album 'Speed, Traffic And Guitar-Accidents' and pulled together a studio band, including BENNY JANSSON, PLATITUDE keyboard player Andreas Lindahl, STORMWIND and NARNIA bassist Andreas Olsson and MIND'S EYE singer Andreas Novak, to cut a version of 'Wild Frontier' for the GARY MOORE tribute album 'Give Us Moore'.

Flores manned the drum kit for Italian act SECRET SPHERE's 'Heart & Anger' album in January 2005. Both Jansson and Flores also featured with singer Göran Edman for the XSAVIOR project band and the 2005 album 'Caleidoscope'. In early 2005 Björn Jansson vocalised on the track 'This Is The End' included as part of LARS ERIC MATTSON's "non-fictional Rock Opera about the state of this planet we call Earth" WAR.

Björn Jansson joined Danish Progressive Metal band BEYOND TWILIGHT in January 2006. Yet another collaborative project had the Jansson's working on a debut album for classically trained, Raven haired singer MIJA. Later that year the Jansson brothers joined up with former HELLOWEEN and MASTERPLAN drummer Uli Kusch to forge RIDE THE SKY.
