An archetypal Swedish AOR act created in 1987, originally under the name of SCANDINAVIAN DYNAMITE. After adding vocalist Thomas Vikström, previously having fronted 80s Glam act OCTAGON under the pseudonym 'Tommy Senseless', the band changed titles to TALK OF THE TOWN in 1988 and in the same year released both a highly successful single and album, pushing the band to an immediate gold status. TALK OF THE TOWN broke ranks in 1990, but were reformed by guitarist Antonia Salvena and Vikström together with new members bassist Staffen Linde, keyboard player Joachim Udding and drummer Johan Kullberg.

By 1990 Vikström was fronting an all new combo aligned with ex-A.T.C. guitarist TOMMY DENANDER billed as SPEEDY GONZALES. This unit folded and in 1992 Vikström surprised many by joining heavyweight Metallers CANDLEMASS for their 'Chapter VI' album. TALK OF THE TOWN soldiered on for a while with fresh vocalist Conny Lind, ex-TRYCKVÄG, GREAT KING RAT and MASI, but soon ground to a halt.

Lind teamed up with RACEWAY and STATE OF MIND. Staffen Linde joined ALIEN. Johan Kullberg went on to become a member of LION'S SHARE.

A projected second album was finally released in 2000.

Thomas Vikström joined THERION in May 2009.
