Biography

STRESSFEST feature former members of GEBURIUM, TRANQUILLITY and EXPULSION. The concept was rooted in a 2000 reformation of early nineties Black Metal act GEBURIUM by former members vocalist / guitarist Chris Vowden, also claiming ABSURD and EXPULSION heritage, bass player Pelle Wannerheim and drummer Andreas Billing. However, the revised version of GEBURIUM, adding TRANQUILLITY guitarist Peter Hegardt, took on more of a hard, Rock n' Roll approach than their previous fare. In November 2001 both Wannerheim and Billing opted out. New recruits would see EXPULSION's Calle Fransson taking on the drum role whilst Oliver Vowden assumed bass duties. One demo was cut in June of 2002, after which Niclas Engwall, of Stoner outfit PONAMERO SUNDOWN, enrolled as the band's new frontman for 2003's session 'Frictional Resistance'.

The STRESSFEST demo 'Silence You Serpent' was issued in June of 2004.
