Biography

Stockholm Heavy Metal band manifested by guitarists Jonas Berndt and Andreas Sjöström, with FIST FIRST and DIVERSION bassist Petter Broman and singer Albrecht Märchenstoltz soon being drafted. Sjöström held credentials with FIST FIRST, CHASTICE and DIVERSION. The opening 1994 WYVERN line up included drummer Micke Henriksson, featured on the inaugural demo 'March Of Metal'. Henriksson replaced in 1997 by the PANTHEON credited Thomas Väänanen on drums, also known for his role of Viking Metal band THYRFING. Puling in new singer Henrik Hedberg of HYPOCRITE the group cut a second demo 'The Ancient Sword'. This session secured a recording contract with the German label Bossy Ogress Records. Another switch in frontman, this time enlisting David Sperling, saw the band entering Park Studios in Stockholm in late 1998 to craft 'The Wildfire' album.

Väänanen's commitments to THYRFING would force the issue of his departure shortly after the album release and soon after David Sperling was asked to leave the band. For the second WYVERN album, 2001's 'No Defiance Of Fate' recorded at Studio Fredman, the band added new yet experienced members drummer Peter Nagy of MÖRK GRYNING, ETERNAL OATH and HYPOCRITE and lead vocalist Toni Kocmut from SINS OF OMISSION. Bassist Jonas Berndt decamped in early 2002, however, former member Petter Broman would soon be re-inducted into the fold.
