Biography

Alongside EUROPE the Stockholm based TREAT rank as one of Sweden's greatest success stories in the field of Melodic Rock. Formed in 1983, TREAT's initial recording line up of 1983 comprised of ex-SPRÄNG DEG and THE BOYS members vocalist Robert Ernlund and guitarist Anders Wikström alongside guitarist Lief Liliegen, ex-FACTORY bass player Ken Siewertson and former HIGHBROW and POWER associate Mats William 'Dalton' Dahlberg on drums.

Having been signed to Mercury TREAT unleashed a welter of singles during 1984 before the debut 'Scratch And Bite' album was issued in January the following year. And to promote the singles the group performed a number of live dates, including a support slot to W.A.S.P.

Towards the end of 1985 Mats 'Dalton' Dahlberg was replaced with drummer Leif Sundin and the new man made his mark on February 1986's 'The Pleasure Principle' album. Dahlberg subsequently formed DALTON.

Sundin lasted a year in the TREAT ranks before he was superseded by former SIX FEET UNDER and CAPRICORN Jamie Borger for March 1987's 'Dreamhunter'. The same year found TREAT appearing at the European 'Monsters Of Rock' festivals alongside DAVID LEE ROTH and KISS.

By 1989's 'Organised Crime' album TREAT had undergone an extensive overhaul as far as the group's roster was concerned. Mainstays Ernlund and Wikström were still working with Borger but were now joined by former SIX FEET UNDER bassist Joe Larsson and ex-POWER keyboard player Patrik 'Green' Appelgren. However, following the album release frontman Ernlund left and was replaced by former SWEDISH EROTICA and CAPRICORN vocalist Mats Levén.

Despite the fact that many observers feel that the resulting 'Treat' album of 1992 vintage, produced by WARLOCK's Joey Balin, is the best the Swedes ever offered the new version of TREAT failed to last the course and had split up by the following year.

Jamie Borger formed TALISMAN in 1993 with ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN bassist Marcel Jacob. Levén, after being asked to join a short-lived band assembled by POISON guitarist C.C. DeVille, joined ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA and by 1997 was vocalist for YNGWIE MALMSTEEN. Wikström formed MENTAL HIPPIE BLOOD whilst Appelgren joined STATE OF MIND. In 2000 high ranking Gothenburg Death Metal act IN FLAMES radically re-worked TREAT's 'World Of Promises' as a bonus track included on the limited edition 3D version of their 'Clayman' album.

Jamie Borger joined the ranks of LAST AUTUMN'S DREAM in 2004, featuring on the 'II' album. In early 2006 it was learned that Mats Levén was working up a band project with an esteemed roster of players dubbed FATAL FORCE. This unit comprised Danish guitarist TORBEN ENEVOLDSEN and the XSAVIOR, MIND'S EYE, SPEEDY GONZALES, FARO and PHILIP BARDOWELL credited drummer Daniel Flores. A self-titled, Tommy Hansen produced debut album emerged in April via MTM Music.

TREAT made an appearance at the 24th October 2009 'Firefest' event in Nottingham.
