Stockholm Stoner Metal fronted by ex-COUNT RAVEN and SAINT VITUS frontman Christian 'Lord Chritus' Lindersson and former UNLEASHED guitarist Fredrik Lindgren. Taking their name from the track 'Never Coming Back To Terra Firma' by the cult Swedish act WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS the band was rounded out by ALBATROSS bassist Nico 'Moosebeach' Elgstrand ('Putz Weck') and drummer Izmo Ledderfejs.

TERRA FIRMA emerged with a mid 1996 demo 'Rock n' Roll Splendour' comprising 'Rainbow Ride', 'In Orbit' and 'High Horses', two tracks of which would be soon re-issued as a limited edition 7" single on Freedom Records. With this release under their belts TERRA FIRMA put in their first live showing at a gig with MURDER SQUAD at Stockholm's Café 44. A second six track demo session was cut in November of that year, a track from which, 'Fifth Wheel', was utilised for a split 7" single shared with GODSCENT through Clear Blue Sky Records. Although label offers were prompted TERRA FIRMA opted instead to craft a third five track demo in mid 1997.

In 1997 a TROUBLE cover version was duly donated to a tribute album and in December TERRA FIRMA recorded their first album. However, it would not see the light of day until 1999, issued by SPV in Europe and in North America through The Music Cartel. During the interim further TERRA FIRMA material surfaced with a Jazz Rock interpretation lent to MOTÖRHEAD's 'Bomber'. Promoting the album extensive tour work throughout Europe saw the band teamed up with ORANGE GOBLIN and CATHEDRAL. A second round of gigs, the September 'Rainbow Ride' tour, had LEADFOOT and ROADSAW as support,

A picture disc single issued in March of 2000, limited to 1,000 copies, paired 'Spiral Guru' with a rendition of JETHRO TULL's 'For A Thousand Mothers'.

Fredrik Lindgren also operated in Punk act LOUDPIPES and Thrash band BORN OF FIRE, the latter a collaboration with the ENTOMBED duo of Peter Stjarnvind and Richard Cabeza in alliance with Dimman. Lindgren subsequently forged HARMS WAY. Ex-member Nico Elgstrand joined ENTOMBED on bass guitar in January of 2004.

In late 2008 guitarist Freddie Eugene and bassist Izmo Ledderfejs united with former BLACKSHINE axeman Stabel Miserabel in a new project branded ATLANTIC TIDE.
