Biography

A Stockholm based, lightweight AOR band created by former BEDLAM guitarist Tomas Jacobsson, the group also included second guitarist Stefan Jonsson, an ex-RENEGADE member. Following the first single, 'Love Got Wings', drummer Fredrik Öberg was replaced by Peter Petersson and, suffering an identity crisis, the band dabbled with a new moniker of JET LAG before reverting back to SNAKES IN PARADISE. By 1997 the band had shed their skin yet again to become the heavily LED ZEPPELIN influenced FOUR STICKS issuing the 'Electric Celebration' album.

Perhaps SNAKES IN PARADISE's main claim to fame up to this point in their career was playing a set at the 1993 'Gods Of AOR' shows in the United Kingdom where they backed up American AOR star MARK FREE.

Stefan Berggren joined THE SNAKES in 2000, the outfit led by erstwhile WHITESNAKE guitarists BERNIE MARSDEN and MICKY MOODY. This act would subsequently evolve into COMPANY OF SNAKES.

The 'Dangerous Love' album emerged in May of 2002. The following year Berggren made a return to the scene fronting up RAZORBACK, a collaboration with the industrious guitarist ROLF MUNKES, having credits with EMPIRE, VANIZE and MAJESTY, ex-SHYLOCK guitarist Chris Heun and the erstwhile VANIZE rhythm section of bassist Marcus Bielenberg and drummer Pierre Fienhold. In mid 2004 Stefan Berggren reunited with his erstwhile COMPANY OF SNAKES colleagues guitarists MICKY MOODY and BERNIE MARSDEN to front up live gigs for their M3 project.
