PROBOSCIS are an eclectic outfit, ranging in musical styles from Funk to Hardcore. Formed in 1991 by ex-AFFLICTED vocalist Magnus Liljendahl and guitarist Joacim Carlsson together with erstwhile THE MOOR drummer Linus Bladh. After the release of the single 'Fall In Line' Carlsson left to join FACE DOWN. His replacement was former URA KAIPA and CREMATORY man Mikael Lindevall. The band also changed drummers, adding Björn Viitanen.

PROBOSCIS have also, in their time, contributed a cover of VENOM's 'Seven Gates Of Hell' to the 1993 Primitive Art Records tribute album 'Promoters Of The Third World War'.

In 2004 guitarist Joacim Carlsson, then enrolled in the ranks of GENERAL SURGERY, formed up part of the resurrected FACE DOWN.
