A Stockholm band comprised of former CANDLEMASS vocalist Messiah Marcolin (a.k.a. Jan Alfredo Marcolin) and Michael Wead (real name Mikael Vikström), of former WITCH, HEXENHAUS and KING DIAMOND infamy. MEMENTO MORI also included Snowy Shaw (a.k.a. Tommy Helgesson), who had been with both KING DIAMOND and MERCYFUL FATE, ex-DARK OPERA guitarist Nikkey Argento and bassist Marti Marteen (real name Mårten Sandberg) previously with NAGASAKI and HEXENHAUS

The group debuted with the 'Rhymes Of Lunacy' album in 1993. Touring saw the addition of Thomas Lyon (a.k.a. Thomas Lundin), previously vocalist with HATRED and HEXENHAUS was hired as keyboardist/backing vocalist on tour in UK and Sweden. The band then introduced keyboard player Migeul Robaina in 1994. However, the enigmatic Marcolin quit following the release of the second album ('Life, Death And Other Morbid Tales') to join STILLBORN. Shaw then contributed to the reformed MERCYFUL FATE, whilst Wead teamed up with ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA.

At first Marcolin was replaced by former NEOCORI vocalist Stefan Karlsson, although the third album, 'La Danse Macabre', featured the TAD MOROSE and WUTHERING HEIGHTS credited vocalist Kristian Andrén. Drums were now handled by ex-PARASITE and HEXENHAUS man Johan Billerhag, after Helgesson left to join MERCYFUL FATE and ILL WILL. Robaina also upped and left in favour of Jocke Floke.

Kristian Andren was to make a guest showing on the 1997 STREET TALK album 'Collaboration'. Marcolin was to rejoin the ranks for MEMENTO MORI's 1997 album 'Songs For The Apocalypse Vol. IV'.

Early 2005 revealed that Snowy Shaw, having folded his NOTRE DAME venture, was recording tracks for a projected solo endeavour in collaboration with the ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TREAT and AT VANCE credited singer Mats Levén. In May a video for the track 'XXX - Le Masochiste' emerged online. Former MEMENTO MORI singer Kristian Andrén joined BLOODBOUND in September 2006.

Announced in December 2006, Stockholm Punk band FUKK comprised Snowy Shaw on drums, singer Jensara Swann plus guitarist Irina, ex-MARDUK vocalist Legion's wife, and bass player Gothness.

In February 2007 it was announced that Mike Wead had joined forces with a brand new, melodic Death Metal inclined project called KRYPTILLUSION. Kristofer Nilsson of UNDIVINE handled lead vocals whilst Stefan Westerberg, of IN THY DREAMS, STEEL ATTACK, WORLD BELOW, ASPERITY and CARNAL FORGE, featured on drums and Fredrik Groth from THE STORYTELLER assumed bass duties.
