Biography

Stockholm Death-Thrashers formed in late 2001 by former CORPSEGRINDER and DIMENSION singer Michel Isberg and EXTRICATOR drummer Johan Westman. The band's formative years would see an ebb and flow of members as the line-up remained fluid. Included amongst these candidates would be subsequent HYDROGEN singer Niclas Olsson. Isberg's brother Markus briefly found involvement on guitar. In October 2002 MACHINERY utilised Necromorbus Studios to track the demo 'A Part Of Steel In An Endless Machine'. Recording roster for these sessions involved Michel Isberg on vocals and guitar, Johan Westman on drums with Fredrik Öhlund on bass. Markus Isberg was then re-instated but, following the inaugural MACHINERY gig at the MC-Mjölner motorbike club, Öhlund decamped. Second demo, billed 'A Part Of Steel In An Endless Machine - Part II', was recorded in the autumn of 2003, after which ex-DIMENSION bassist Hans Johansson was enrolled.

Necromorbus was again the venue for a third demo, 'Machinery - The Beginning', cut in October 2004. However, Hans Johansson opted out in November 2005. EXTRICATOR's KG West stood in as a temporary member for live work before Per Lindström, of ETERNAL TORMENT, FLAGELLATION, ANIMA MORTE, IN GREY and GOATSODOMIZER, took on bass duties in January 2006, debuting at the 'Mondo Metal Fest' event that month. In May MACHINERY participated on the 'Thrashing The Masses' compilation album, with the tracks 'Rectifier' and 'Unholy Demon', plus the follow up concert.

MACHINERY's debut album 'Degeneration' was recorded during August 2006 at Necromorbus studio with producer Sverker Widgren for release in October through Last Entertainment Productions. Newly employed keyboard player FREDRIK KLINGWALL is a man holding a tradition with acts such as IN GREY, FLAGELLATION, SHADOW OF THE CONCEALED, GOATSODOMIZER, ANIMA MORTE and RISING SHADOWS.

In January 2007 guitarist Markus Isberg left MACHINERY "due to personal reasons," according to a press release. Replacing him in the group's line-up would be Mano Lewys. Sophomore album 'The Passing' was recorded in June 2007 at Black Lounge Studio with SCAR SYMMETRY's Jonas Kjellgren acting as producer. The album surfaced in April 2008.
