LEIF EDLING is the bassist and mentor behind Swedish Doom cult act CANDLEMASS and avant-garde Metal band ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA. Edling's other band associations include NEMESIS, KRUX, JUPITER SOCIETY and WITCHCRAFT. A set of demos arrived in 2002, coinciding with the re-release of early CANDLEMASS product.

In November 2008 the studio solo album 'Songs Of Torment, Songs Of Joy' saw release through GMR Records. Contributing musicians included guitarists Chris Laney, of ZAN CLAN and ANIMAL, and Björn Eriksson, the CANDLEMASS, ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA, JUPITER SOCIETY and KRUX credited keyboard player Carl Westholm plus drummer Lars Sköld.
