Stockholm Death Metal band GODPHOBIA, forged in June 2006 involved erstwhile TORTURE ETERNAL members guitarist Tobbe, rhythm guitarist Johan and drummer Linus Nylén (a.k.a. 'Soilslasher'). At first the band took on the title CHAOS. A four song self-titled demo, recorded at Necromorbus studio by producer Sverker Widgren, was released in November. Session vocals were delivered by Svinto of MIZZFOSTER and Nicke from HYDROGEN.

Subsequently GODPHOBIA enrolled singer Robin Westlund, then bassist Richard. Cutting Edge Records released the album 'On Your Knees' in March 2007. Meantime, the band's debut live concert was conducted at Club Undertaker in Södertälje that January. Subsequent concerts witnessed support to DISMEMBER, DERANGED and GRAVE. GODPHOBIA then acted as support to VITAL REMAINS 'Icons Of Evil' tour in March, during which Richard took his leave. With dates still remaining, the band drafted replacement Mika Kajanen.

In January 2008 the group recorded tracks for a second album, 'As Maggots Crawl'. During these sessions founder member Johan exited, being replaced by Paul. However, this latest recruit soon exited.

Guitarist Tobias quit in February 2009. Austrian imprint Noisehead Records signed GODPHOBIA in March for release of the album 'As Maggots Crawl'.
