Biography

With the collapse of longstanding Death Metal combo CENTINEX in March 2006, three band members duly forged old school Death Metal act DEMONICAL. The founding formation, assembled in Houtland, comprised guitarist Johan Jansson, also having association with a swathe of acts such as PYOSISFIED, HATRED, SIDEBURNERS, ASOCIAL, FLESHREVELS, FULMINATION, FROSTHEIM, UNCURBED, INTERMENT and DELLAMORTE, bass player Martin Schulman and drummer Ronnie Bergerståhl, also known for his work with AMARAN and JULIE LAUGHS NO MORE. In April the triumvirate advertised for a frontman. DEMONICAL laid down demo tracks, billed 'Bloodspell Divine', at Necromorbus Studios in July. Johan Jansson joined REGURGITATE in September 2006.

DEMONICAL contracted with Germany's Cyclone Empire Records in November. At the same juncture the group announced the addition of Ludde Engellau from TALION, UNCHASTE and Grind act REMASCULATE as their new vocalist.

On January 18th 2007 DEMONICAL entered Black Lounge Studios, working with producer Jonas Kjellgren, to lay down drum tracks for new album 'Servants Of The Unlight'. On January 28th they switched over to Necromorbus Studios in Stockholm and, with the help of Sverker Widgren, cut the remaining vocal, guitar and bass tracks. A 2007 European tour set to feature DERANGED, MASTER and DEMONICAL was announced but then cancelled by the booking agency "due to economical issues".

Following a brace of late April shows opening for GRAVE, DEMONICAL arranged to support NUNSLAUGHTER with opening act NOMINON on a short European tour in July 2007.

DEMONICAL entered Necromorbus Studios on 17th December 2008 to begin recording 'Hellsworn' album tracks, these sessions being mastered at Black Lounge Studios in late January 2009. To promote this effort, the 'Northern Death Blow' tour, an 18 date trek through Europe alongside Finns TORTURE KILLER and fellow Swedes FACEBREAKER, kick off in Stockholm on 15th May.
