Biography

Concocted in Stockholm during late 2005, the deliberatly retro-styled Death Metal combo DEATH BREATH was initiated by former ENTOMBED drummer and THE HELLACOPTERS frontman Nicke Andersson. He would be joined by frontman Jörgen Sandström, who had previously fronted the Swedish Death Metal act GRAVE, played with Andersson in ENTOMBED as the group's bassist and holds both VICIOUS ART and THE PROJECT HATE credentials, plus guitarist Robert Persson of THUNDER EXPRESS. Bass would be handled by Mange Hedquist. REPULSION vocalist / bassist Scott Carlson also guested on album recordings.

DEATH BREATH signed to Black Lodge Records in May 2006. Upfront of the album release a limited edition single, of the 'Death Breath' anthem, hosted two exclusive tracks in 'Corpses of Death', featuring Markus Karlsson of I QUIT on vocals, and 'Matricide'. Relapse Records issued the 'Stinking Up The Night' album in the USA.

The band parted ways with bassist Magnus Hedquist in early October, simply stating "The reasons for his departure are, shall we say, none of your business". DEATH BREATH made its live debut on October 26th at Debaser Medis in Stockholm. For this show the band unit was expanded with the introduction of guests Scott Carlson, from REPULSION, and Jörgen Sandström, of GRAVE, ENTOMBED and VICIOUS ART.

Black Lodge issued an EP, 'Let It Stink', in February 2007.
