Biography

Stockholm outfit BEDLAM brought together assorted ex-WILDLIW members and former WASA EXPRESS drummer Åke Ericsson. The band's first product would be the six track EP 'The Beauties And The Beast' issued in 1985 for Virgin Records. A 7" single, 'Take It To The Top', came next in line. Following the band's cover version of MUD's 'Tiger Feet, released as a single, BEDLAM gained a brand new vocalist in the form of Micke Moberg. He, in turn, was replaced by ex-SIX FEET UNDER and BALTIMOORE singer Björn Lodin, but the band soon splintered. Lodin had a brief appearance with KROKUS before re-forging BALTIMOORE.

The group's original vocalist, Jack Davey (real name Bernt Ek), joined WIZZ in 1986 before teaming up with THE STATION and AOR sensations HOUSE OF SHAKIRA. BEDLAM guitarist Jackie Thompson (real name Thomas Jacobsson), on the other hand, is now in SNAKES IN PARADISE. Åke Eriksson carried on the BEDLAM project, releasing records under the titles ÅKEERIKSSON & BEDLAM, BEDLAM ERIXON and ÅKE ERIKSSON HOTSHOT 3.

Björn Lodin contributed guest lead vocal tracks to cover versions of BUDGIE's 'In For The Kill' and NEON ROSE's 'Love Rock' for inclusion on OVERDRIVE and LOCOMOTIVE BREATH guitarist Janne Stark's November 2006 MOUNTAIN OF POWER tribute collection.
