Biography

Well known Progressive Metal band MIND'S EYE date back to the 1992 formation of AFTERGLOW by Stockholm based musicians bass player Johan Niemann, also known for his high profile work with THERION, and Daniel Flores on drums. This pair soon united with guitarist Fredrik Grünberger and, a year later, singer German Pascual to cut the 'Afterglow' album of 1994. By 1996 the band was without a deal and Pascual opted out. Subsequent demo recordings utilised the services of CANDLEMASS veteran Thomas Vikström and Robert Forse of HEADS OR TALES.

Finally Johan Persson was incorporated into the band, newly named as MIND'S EYE after discovery of the German Death Metal act AFTERGLOW. Signing to the American Sensory label the band cut the 1997 album 'Into The Unknown'. However, soon after release the band lost the services of Persson and Andreas Novak, who onstage experience performing the character role of 'Judas' in the 'Jesus Christ Superstar' stage musical, subsequently took the role, appearing on the album '"... Waiting For The Tide'. This record emerged on the band's own Round record label. Despite favourable response Johan Niemann decided to quit in order to concentrate on his priority act THERION.
