TREASURE LAND, hailing from Stenungsund, is a Progressive Metal act initiated during 1993 by guitarist Jonas Hörnqvist, sibling drummer Magnus Hörnqvist and bassist Magnus Lind, all former members of CALILO. Keyboard player Kaspar Dahlqvist came on board in 1994. TREASURE LAND is fronted by singer Zenny Gram, previously frontman for DESTINY and formatively, billed as Zenny Hansson, singer for Doom outfit FAITH and ARROWZ. An initial set of demos scored a contract with German company Modern Music and in September of 1996 the band recorded their debut album 'Questions'. The record saw issue in February 1997. However, their record label then voiced concerns over Gram's abilities.

TREASURE LAND disagreed with this viewpoint and persevered, cutting demos for a second album with Gram still at the microphone. When Modern Music rejected these tapes the group reluctantly let Gram go and recruited new frontman Jacob Samuel, of MIDNIGHT SUN, JEKYLL & HYDE, PUNCHLINE, TALISMAN, THE RING and YALE BATE repute. in December 1997. To promote a second opus a European tour with VIRGIN STEELE was arranged but then cancelled. This turmoil resulted in the departure of Dahlqvist. Eventually the 1998 'Gateway' album would only be promoted with a handful of gigs supporting LION'S SHARE.

Rick Altzi of SANITY took over the vocal position in 2001. Rumours circulated during late 2005 suggesting TREASURE LAND had ceased activities but in reality the Hörnqvist brothers had put the band into stasis for a period whilst they both, coincidentlly, devoted time to impending fatherhood.

Jonas Hörnqvist reformed TREASURE LAND with a new line-up in August 2006, enrolling two new members, Rick Altzi of SANITY on vocals and Mathias Scheffler on keyboards.
