Originally titled REAPER and forged by two erstwhile members of DISSECTION drummer Tobias Kjellgren and guitarist Johan Norman. The drummer also boasts an enviable tradition with DECAMERON, SWORDMASTER and SACRAMENTUM. Original second guitarist Mattias Eliasson would relinquish his post to former TEARS OF SAHARA man Christoffer Hermansson for recording of the 'Written In Blood' album. Hermansson in turn exited in order to found Power Metal band SEVENTH ONE opening the way for Stefan Karlsson.

Kellgren would join Hermansson in SEVENTH ONE for the debut 2002 album 'Sacrifice'. SOUL REAPER contracted themselves to the Hammerheart label for a new album 'Life Erazer', produced by KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy LaRocque.
