HEXENHAUS, hailing from Solna, was originally titled MANINNYA BLADE, under which name they released one album. Having adopted the new name in 1987, the band's line-up for the debut album, 'A Tribute To Insanity', comprised of vocalist Nicklas Johansson, ex-WITCH guitarist Mike Wead (a.k.a. Mikael Vikström), second guitarist ex-DAMIEN man Rick Meister (real name Andreas Palm), bassist Jan Blomqvist and drummer Ralph 'Raideeen' Ryden.

In early 1989 Niclas Johansson left, to be superseded by HATRED vocalist Thomas Lyon (then called Thomas Lundin). The band had actually asked Lundin a year previously to join the band, but he had declined. On the second chance he accepted the offer. 1990's 'The Edge Of Eternity' album was fronted by DAMIEN's Tommie Agrippa and also features a fresh bassist in former NAGAZAKI, DAMIEN and MANNYINA BLADE man Marty Marteen (real name Mårten Sandberg) and ex-PARASITE drummer Billy St. John (Johan Billerhag).

MANNINYA BLADE reformed in 1990 with Rutström, Leif Eriksson, Blomqvist and drummer Johan Eriksson, although Leif was to leave after the band cut a new demo tape in 1995.

In 1990, the band once again asked for the services of vocalist Thomas Lyon and this time he accepted the offer. For the third HEXENHAUS album, 1991's 'Awakening', only Wead and a returning Lyon remained with the band's new members being guitarist Marco A. Nicosia, ex-MEZZROW bassist Conny Welen and drummer John Billerhag. After the album emerged Mike Wead created MEMENTO MORI then formed ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA with his former comrade, ex-CANDLEMASS bassist Lief Edling.

Thomas Lyon guested on keyboards/backing vocals with MEMENTO MORI on tour in UK and Sweden in 1993. In 1994 he helped out as lead vocalist on FIFTH REASON's 'Stranded' demo, which consequently earned them their record deal. Lyon was asked to be a fulltime member but he declined.

Marco Nicosia appeared on the 1997 album by FIFTH REASON 'Psychotic', a band founded by refugees from TAD MOROSE, ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA and MEMORY GARDEN. Marteen joined MEMENTO MORI. A former HEXENHAUS drummer, Martin Eriksson, re-invented himself as Eurodance star E TYPE in subsequent years. HEXENHAUS reunited temporarily to release their fourth album, 'Deja Voodoo' crafted at MIW Studios in January and February of 1997.

Thomas Lyon would handle the vocal / guitar / keyboard role with Gothic Rock act THE SAVIOURS during the latter half of the nineties, crafting the demos 'Avalon' in 1996 and 'Spoken in Tongues' in 1998. From 2002 onward he would be engaged with "deep house music" project GHOSTHOUSE.

In February 2007 it was announced that Mike Wead had joined forces with a brand new, melodic Death Metal inclined project called KRYPTILLUSION. Kristofer Nilsson of UNDIVINE handled lead vocals whilst Stefan Westerberg, of IN THY DREAMS, STEEL ATTACK, WORLD BELOW, ASPERITY and CARNAL FORGE, featured on drums and Fredrik Groth from THE STORYTELLER assumed bass duties.
