Biography

Groove orientated Doom band OUTREMER, titled after the medieval name for the Palastinian holy lands, boasts an enviable pedigree amongst its members. Both vocalist Ola Malmström and guitarist Paul Johansson held a tradition of working together right back to 1986 act ACID QUEEN, this evolving into the noted SORCERY. This band would induct former MEGALOMANIA bassist Mikael Jansson. SORCERY released a number of demos, an EP and a solitary but highly sought after album 'Bloodchilling Tales'. As a side concern, Malmström and Jansson also fired up FEAR MY SOLITUDE in October of 1991. SORCERY underwent numerous line up changes during which time Johansson was activate with IN AETERNUM.

With SORCERY finally laid to rest Johansson began assembling new music with IN AETERNUM, MARTYRUM, COMMAND and MORANNON drummer Joacim 'Destroyer' Olofsson during 2000. In parallel, Malmström and Jansson were crafting demos billed as AMANITA PHALLOIDES. With Johansson and Olofsson departing IN AETERNUM in early 2001 the four joined forces to forge OUTREMER. This new unit first debuted live and cut their first demos in April of 2002. With progress then slowing, Johansson opted out, being superseded by MORANNON, COMMAND and FORLORN guitarist Henrik 'Goatlord' Lindenmo for the album 'Darkness Calls'.
